Changsha Day 2

We went to Carrefour (spelling?) today after the civil affairs office. We stocked up on pepsi, bottled water, diapers, and a couple of other random things. We were definitely the only non-Chinese people there. Tessa snuggled with Daddy in the carrier, while Mommy did some shopping. Of course, we were accompanied by our guide. We could've never done it without her. We came back to the hotel afterwards for a quick diaper change, and then went to lunch. We managed that all by ourselves, but we did go back to the same place we ate dinner last night. Then it was back to the hotel for Tessa to take a nap. This afternoon/evening Mommy had a massage and Tessa went with Daddy to the playroom. The playroom is on our floor, as are many of the other adoptive families.

Tessa is still very happy and playful, and laughs a lot. She runs up to other people and is very social, and isn't preferential to us. At times though, she does seem a little shy and clingy when we are in public. She is most comfortable in our room, and in the playroom. She can get from one to the other with no help! We saw the first real tears today during a diaper change, because she's getting quite the diaper rash. Some nice cream and a new diaper, and all was well. And of course, some Mommy snuggles. She is very open to affection, and has no issues at all with eye contact. Her paperwork the guide translated for us describes her as "extroverted and hot tempered". They call the girls from this province "Spicy Girls" because of their general temperaments, and b/c the food is spicy. She is definitely spicy! She's playing with the beach ball right now!

I feel like the pictures don't do her justice, b/c she frowns and turns away every time the camera comes out. But the videos we have of her are hilarious! I'm going to try and download one from my phone to email back home, so my aunt can try and put it on the blog. We've been skyping with the boys and other family back home, so they've all gotten to see her hilarious personality. Send me a message if you are on Skype, and maybe we can chat!

The boys are doing well at home with the Grandparents, but we sure do miss them. We are constantly pointing out things they would like, and similarities their sister has with them.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) we meet our guide at 10am to go to the Hunan Provincial Museum. We fly out of here Friday evening, and are excited to go to Guangzhou!

Enjoy the pics!

Thank you for the sweet comments and emails, they brighten our days! Keep them coming!

Heading in for shopping:-)
Christmas decorations anyone?
Peeking over at Mommy.

Shirley and I turned around because we heard Tessa laughing. Turns out this giant teddy bear was attacking her. That's what I'm talking about!
Sweet baby girl almost went to sleep.
