Good Morning!

It's 7:30am here, and Tessa is still sleeping. Eric just hopped in the shower, and we are going to try and get ready before she wakes. She slept beautifully. Before we got in bed, and got two big thick down comforters out of the closet. I put one on my bed (we have two doubles) to make it softer, b/c the beds are so hard. I folded the other and put it b/t mine and Eric's beds in case she fell off the bed during the night. I woke up at some point, and she was on the floor, snuggled on that comforter. I'm glad I had put it down!! We have breakfast at the buffet this morning, and then meet our guide at 10am. We have to be back at the civil affairs office at 10:30 to finalize the adoption!!!!!!!!!! We also go to Walmart today. We need some bottled waters and diapers. I only brought one pack of diapers since we didn't know if she'd be potty trained. Tessa's main special need is anal stenosis, which we suspect is more severe than what we were told. Because of that, it seems unlikely she'll be able to be potty trained and control her bowels anytime soon. Now I get to buy some cute pink cloth diapers! I'm so ready to get this child home and have her completely examined by our pediatrician, and then the specialists needed. She is so lively, extroverted, and perfect, and it makes me sad that her physical issues would have never been addressed here. We were told yesterday that her finding place was the gate of the orphanage, at around ten days old. To think her biological mother left her there, hoping and praying she would be adopted and receive the medical care she needs, brings tears to my eyes. She will definitely get any and all care she needs! I pray her biological mother feels a peace that she is well taken care of.

Well, Eric is out of the shower so I'm gonna hop in. Thank you for the continued prayers!

  1. I can't imagine what her bio mom must have felt to leave her but luckily she was led to you and Eric. I smell a date to miss
    Monkeys when you get home!
