Great Wall of China

Sunday morning we packed up at our hotel in Beijing and headed for the Great Wall. We went to the Mutianyu section, which is about two hours from the city center. You take a chairlift to the top, and a bobsled down. It was so much fun!

The street vendors on the ticket office.
Looking back down on our chairlift ride.
Someone coming down the bobsled!
See the Wall between our shoulders?

We had two options once we got to the top. We took the one with better views, but it was steeper. We took our time, and got seriously hot! The jackets came off.

In a watch tower.

These guys were obviously crazy. This part truly looked like it would crumble any second.
Hard to believe we were seeing it with our own eyes.

We took the path a little further, past the no admittance sign. (Our guide told us it was okay, and there were a lot of other people down there.)
To this crumbling watch tower.
Very steep section.

Heather Main's hat!!! My friend Heather knits and custom made this hat to match my jacket. She sells on etsy under MrsPantski!

The Chinese all do this in every picture. In China, it means victory- not peace.
Ready to ride the bobsled down. That was totally cool!
Eric ready to go.
We went straight to the airport from the Wall, and flew directly to Changsha.
